Thea Stilton is the namesake character in the Thea Stilton books, some a main protagonist but mostly a secondary character in the Thea Sisters series, and one of the main protagonists in the Geronimo Stilton books. She is Geronimo Stilton's younger sister and a special correspondent for The Rodent's Gazette.
Biography
Thea Stilton is the younger sister of Geronimo Stilton. Raised presumably by William Shortpaws and Aunt Sweetfur, the two were taken into the Stilton family and adopted the family name.
Thea was most likely top of her class in New Mouse City, because she was eventually invited to attend college in the prestigious Mouseford Academy, and she graduated with top honors in her batch. After graduating, she went on to work as a well-known journalist in the Rodent's Gazette and is currently the newspaper's special correspondent.
Sometime down the line, she was invited back to Mouseford Academy by headmaster Octavius de Mousus as an investigative journalism teacher, and there she meets five girls that she eventually takes in as her students and proteges. She writes about these girls' adventures around the world in a style similar to her brother Geronimo's books.
Physical Appearance
Thea is a tall, slender grey-furred mouse with lavender eyes and no visible hair on her head like Geronimo. Her outfit changes on occasion, but her main outfit consists of a royal blue jacket with a white fur trim, a lavender or pinkish scarf or sweater and blue pants. She is known to be very athletic despite her slender build.
In the TV series, her general appearance is still the same as the book series, albeit with a few changes. Her nose, fitting to the style of the series, ranges in color from very bright orange to almost brown. Her main outfit in the TV series is her purple eyes, dark purple eyeshadow on her eyelids, a black jacket with white insides and a yellow button on each of the upturned collar tips, a lavender shirt with upturned collars underneath and dark grey pants.
Personality
„[Thea] isn’t much of an office mouse, she prefers hanging from tree branches and climb building ledges to get the perfect shot. Thea is strong and confident. She has a black-belt in Karate and she can pilot or drive anything that’s been built, but she’s also vulnerable and has a wry sense of humor. There’s a sensitive side to Thea, her weak spot being for Benjamin, whom she loves dearly and would do anything for. Her insecurities however are with her feminine side. That’s another area where she’s vulnerable. She’s beautiful, and loves to look pretty, but she’s out of her element in a ball gown and high-heels. She can carry it off… until she has to walk, then her awkwardness shines through. She is a tomboy, an adventuress, and a little bit of a girly girl in the Geronimo and Thea Stilton books.
Thea is notoriously Geronimo's opposite to a great amount, almost sharing absolutely nothing in common with her brother. Geronimo is reserved, hates traveling, has almost all the common phobias to a near-crippling degree, prefers to think more critically before making a move, hates breaking his status quo, lives for the simple pleasures in everyday life, is polite to a fault, and is always too scared and too nice to stand up for himself; meanwhile Thea is fearless, assertive, unafraid of coming off as nosy if it means finding answers to things, charges headfirst into situations, prefers to strategize in real-time, has nearly no filter when something greatly displeases her, and has an insatiable thirst for adventure. This caters very well to her job as the special correspondent of the Rodent's Gazette, which involves a lot of travel and work off the desk. Her versatility on and off the field has made her a popular person among her peers (to the degree that she tends to get heavy preferential treatment from William Shortpaws), and Geronimo has mentioned having been compared to her frequently and being envious of her skills and personality.
In her book series involving the Thea Sisters, her softer and friendlier side shines through a lot more. Her wild side that Geronimo all too frequently brings up is almost nonexistent, preferring to fulfill a calmer and wise mentor figure role for the Thea Sisters.
Thea is described as being attractive appearance-wise and personality-wise, and as a result a lot of men have had an attraction to her. Not only do Hercule Poirat and Bruce Hyena both have crushes on Thea while Jim Dribbles has had a soft spot & crush on Thea in The Super Cup Face-Off but she also mentions in The Mona Mousa Code and The Lost Letters that she has had multiple boyfriends and countless admirers, respectively. (Geronimo has even said at one point that Thea has had "so many ex-boyfriends that [he'd] need six hands to count them all".) She has used her charisma to her advantage multiple times by sweet-talking her admirers into letting her get through places that would otherwise be inaccessible to her. However, this does have disadvantages, as Thea was tempted into becoming a queen or a princess more than once in the series. Because of her typical dislike for most traits considered feminine in behavior, Thea has always shot down these attempts and offers, and even rejected a typical wild west woman's outfit due to how it restricted her mobility (the only one who did something of this sort) in The Wild, Wild West.
In the television series, Thea is much more composed (if not slightly more aggressive and sarcastic) and more tomboyish than in the books, and typically speaks in a calmer tone than it is implied in the books.
Relationships
Geronimo Stilton
Geronimo is Thea’s older brother, while they are polar opposites they love each other very much and Thea sometimes teases Geronimo, they get along very well and help each other when needed. In the show they are both skeptics when it comes to supernatural and magic and Thea has found ways to help calm Geronimo’s nerves such as giving him tea.
Trap Stilton
Trap is Thea’s cousin while they both love each other much like with Trap’s relationship with Geronimo their relationship is not always smooth and she dislikes Trap’s childishness and lazy obnoxious nature.
Benjamin Stilton
Benjamin is Thea’s nephew she loves him very much and much like Geronimo she would do anything for him. Benjamin and Thea both share a love for adventure, travel and sports. At somepoint in the show (not verified) Thea may of taught Benjamin how to drive the Metamouse. Also in the show they have teamed up and worked together many times when Geronimo isn’t around and are shown to make a great team. In Sea Rats when surrounded by sharks Thea and Benjamin held each other close showing that Thea is also protective of her nephew.
William Shortpaws
William is Thea’s grandfather while they both love each other very much with William deeming Thea as his favorite. However, Thea has shown hints to dislike his stingy nature and constant yelling. It’s hinted that much like her brother she might even be afraid of him since as Geronimo says himself “everyone is afraid of him”.

Trivia
- She is voiced by Sarah Edmondson in the TV series.
- Her adoptive status with Geronimo is still unclear. They do have the same elongated snouts to be biological siblings, but the Giovane Gero spinoffs explain that they have too big of an age gap to be "adopted together as infants". Thea was still a baby when Geronimo is 12.
- She has been shown running away from the face of danger before. This may be viewed as very unlike her by some, but most of the situations are justified due to some factor rendering it highly dangerous or even stupid to fight back.
- Thea has the license to pilot just any vehicle. In the books, she's driven her motorcycle and car (both at notoriously fast speeds) and owns a catamaran. In the TV series, she has piloted a helicopter, a plane, her motorcycle, Geronimo's car, and the Metamouse Multi-vehicle.
- She is known to drive her bike indoors as well as outdoors, as seen in every rendition of the Rodent's Gazette Editorial Staff photo and in a few books in the series. A notorious stunt she does with her bike is she rides up the stairs to the top floor, rams her bike into Geronimo's office at full and parks the bike on his table (and usually his hand) but in later books she seems to have stopped driving her bike indoors.
- She typically drives on land at such high speeds that Geronimo never wants to ride with her behind the wheel.
- Thea's motorbike is depicted as a pink superbike resembling a Ducati in the TV series. Meanwhile in the books, her bike is an 80s naked bike with a cheese-colored paintjob.
- She plays in the Turbo Cheese soccer team, which appears in The Super Cup Face-Off.
- In the show some of the few things Thea and Geronimo have in common is that they are both writers and journalists, they sneeze very loud and they are both skeptics on the supernatural and magic.
Episode Appearances
Thea appears in every episode, except for "It's MY Scoop", "The Incredible Shrinking Stiltons" and "Parmezani Crush".
