Paulina

Paulina's bio

Paulina is a Peruvian member of the Thea Sisters, an adventurous friend group founded by Thea Stilton.

Physical Appearance

Paulina has grayish fur with pale tan undertones, along with dark blueish black hair tied in a long braid with a brown hair tie. She originally had black eyes, but they became a very dark blue in the later books. She wears an orange dress with long sleeves, an upturned collar, two slits on either side of the skirt, and dark grey pants.

Family

Paulina's parents disappeared when Paulina was young for an unknown reason, and Paulina and her younger sister Maria moved in with her Uncle Pedro and Aunt Nidia afterwards. Maria and Paulina are very close-knit and would literally go to the ends of the earth to ensure that they're alright, as seen in The Blue Scarab Hunt when Maria got in contact with the Luxor police after Paulina missed multiple days of their daily video chat. Maria is also an honorary Thea Sister starting from The Secret City.

Biography

Not much is known about her early life (other than her parents disappearing for an unknown reason), but before she went on to continue her studies at Mouseford Academy, she lived with her sister, Maria, back in Peru. She had a close friend back in her school days named Antonio de Moreno who currently runs a chocolate factory in Quito, Ecuador and sells them by the brand of "Cocoa Loco". They both lost contact as years passed by. Upon arrival on (or perhaps during the trip to) Whale Island, she is befriended by five other mouselings; Pamela, Nicky, Colette, Violet, and Thea.

Personality

Paulina is a mouse who lives by logic and believes that there is an explanation for everything that happens around her. She's very analytical like Violet, except her peripheral vision and ability to notice details isn't as potent as Violet's. She specializes in science, mathematics, biology and world history and uses her stockpile of knowledge fairly frequently in the Thea Sisters' adventures to assist them. She and Violet consistently bounce off each other and take turns being the brains of the group, coming up with plans, strategizing, and acting fast in times of crisis.

Technology is Paulina's bread and butter. She is almost never seen without her phone and tablet, and she uses either of them at least once in almost every single book in the main series, to the point where it was very hard for her to part with them in Madagascar Madness. She uses her tablet if not the nearest computer to do research on topics so she knows what the group needs to know for their trips. Her knowledge in coding and electronics is incredibly vast, allowing her to recognize pieces of computer hardware at a glance. She's also shown to play videogames in the comics.

Unlike the typical tech-savvy person, Paulina loves traveling a lot, taking pictures of her travels and making friends all over the world. She is very kind and gentle, being able to reassure the other Thea Sisters in times of stress (that are in situations that aren't related to mysteries), to the point where she is somewhat motherly in nature. She also isn't the type to suspect someone unless there is a logical reason to be suspicious.

In contrast to her friendly disposition and willingness to meet new people, Paulina has a bit of a shy streak at times that can also translate to stage fright like in Drama at Mouseford. This doesn't stop her from helping someone in need, however.

Skills and Abilities

  • Computer Technology- She is very well-versed in the ins and outs of technology, to the point where she can recognize bits of hardware at a glance. She is very skilled with computers and a lot of things that can be done with computers.
  • Morse Code- She and Nicky can read Morse Code and use it when necessary.
  • Survival- She and Nicky are capable of surviving in wilderness scenarios and
  • Photography- Paulina is often the one with a camera or something that can take pictures on hand. It's borderline a habit of hers to take a picture during memorable moments.
